History of Go2NewZealand
Company founder and owner Martin visited New Zealand for the first time in 2001 and spent over six months tramping in the mountains of New Zealand. He walked all the major tracks in Te Urewera, Tongariro, Kahurangi, Abel Tasman, Nelson Lakes, Westland, Mt Cook, Mt Aspiring, Fiordland and Rakiura national parks plus many other walks all over the country. He fell in love with New Zealand's wild places.
Once Martin returned back home to Prague, he was looking for a new opportunity to work in tourism. (Interest in tourism sparked his first guiding experiences in Israel, leading groups of Czech tourists in 2000.) The specialist Czech travel agency Bemett, commissioned him to write a travel guide about New Zealand. They also sponsored his photo exhibition of New Zealand which circulated in several large Czech cities between 2002 and 2004. Following the success of these ventures, Bemett agency then employed Martin as a New Zealand travel and tour specialist. In the meantime Martin moved to New Zealand in 2004 and jointly established the inbound tour operator True Travel Ltd with Vladka Kennett. This specialised in serving Czech and Slovak travel agencies as well as international clientele. In 2019 Vladka departed the business and Martin took over True Travel Ltd, renaming it Go2NewZealand. Since 2004 the company has delivered tours showcasing New Zealand to thousands of satisfied clients. Many leave as friends. The focus of the company is on sharing our passion and experience with our clients.
Go2NewZealand has a team of several dedicated tour guides and Martin’s partner Jennifer is also helping the company with her enormous knowledge of NZ fauna and flora based on her personal and work experience. Jen was the leading person behind the establishment of the Interpretation programme in the Department of Conservation for Fiordland National Park.

The Czech version of Tripadviser did not exist for many years and Czech clients wrote only reviews on Google Maps, you can read them here (it is written in Czech, you can use a Google translator). Therefore we have been using Tripadvisor only from September 2020, since we started tours for Kiwis.
